Community Energy Launch

Help shape Fairfield–Alphington’s clean energy future

Village Power is excited to announce that we are ready to start working with our local community to demonstrate how we can significantly reduce carbon emissions by increasing the use of Community Energy—locally generated renewable energy from rooftop solar, supported by home batteries and our community battery.

We’re bringing together a group of local residents to help design and test a Community Energy Program that could become a model for other communities to follow.

Get involved

We’re inviting up to 100 residents to take part in shaping this program—something that could benefit everyone in our neighbourhood.

We’re looking for a diverse mix of people from Fairfield and Alphington—across different ages, genders, households and backgrounds—whether you rent or own, and whether you live in a house or an apartment.

What you’ll do

Participants will receive simple, practical information to help understand how energy is used in their home. Together, we’ll explore how much of our energy can come from local renewable sources.

As part of the program, we’ll measure and share how much Community Energy is being used—both by individual households and across the group. This is a new approach, and it will help us understand how we can reduce reliance on fossil fuels and take more control of our energy future.

What’s involved

The program is free to join. It will involve some time to learn about your energy use and explore ways to reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint.
