President’s Report: Oct 2025
The team has been busy over the last month on a number of fronts. Importantly, Village Power is very pleased to announce that we have received a $15,000 grant from the Community Bank East Ivanhoe to support a community art project.
The community art project will invite local artists to submit an expression of interest to develop artwork which will be used to cover the community battery when it is installed in Alphington in mid 2026. The artwork will help connect the battery to the local community and help make the battery a focal point in efforts to reduce the community's use of fossil fuels.
Further information, including details about the project theme and how to submit an expression of interest will be available soon.
In other news we are working towards finalising the high-level design of the Local Renewable Energy program, and continuing to support our project partner Acacia as they progress a connection agreement for the battery with distributor Jemena, and move towards executing the lease with Darebin Council.
As always, I hope you enjoy the latest edition of our newsletter and please contact us at info@villagepower.com.au if you have any questions or feedback.
