President’s Report: Sep 2025

Welcome to the September issue of the Village Power newsletter!

The Village Power team has been active over the last month, with our main focus on starting the process to design the Local Renewable Energy program. We’ve had a number of working sessions and sought input from our Project Advisory Group. And, although we’ve got some way to go with the design before we can share details more broadly, we’re confident it’s coming together into an offer that will be attractive to potential subscribers.

Our project partner Acacia Energy has also been busy progressing the lease agreement for the site at 2 Wingrove Street Alphington, with a draft agreement now almost ready to be signed with the Darebin City Council.

Acacia are also preparing an application for a connection to the battery from the electricity distributor Jemena.
